Methods of Inquiry : Lynn Setterington

This Thursday’s Methods of Inquiry lecture was given by Lynn Setterington. Her talk, ‘Collaborative engagement with groups outside the traditional educational framework’, was immediately relevant to my practice as she works with textiles to reach out to different communities. Focusing on her ‘Hulme Sweet Hulme‘ project Setterington talked through the process of building relationships with community groups and the potential of textiles and making to build community and empower individuals.

Leaving the lecture I felt excited about the potential for craft and collaboration within my own practice and the many forms that it could take, from making objects, to exhibition curation, photography and video work.
